The space had once been a working barn that had been renovated into a home, and we started from square one. The goal was to create a comfortable interior for a discerning gentleman, an antique collector who appreciates fine art. I found him several very special antique pieces, one of which was a rare and beautifully crafted English library table.
I worked with a custom cabinet maker to furnish a bookcase of my own design, meant to showcase the client’s prized art, family photographs and books, while also solving the challenge of camouflaging the existing air conditioning unit on the wall.
Throughout the space can be found images and figures of animals, including horses and tortoises – a nod to the prior purpose of this residence.
