This project was featured as part of the prestigious Mansion in May annual Designer show house. The challenge was to transform an empty space in time for over 35,000 visitors. My vision was to create a tranquil and lovely oasis that reflected this beautiful Mansion’s grand history. Three oversized French doors were dressed with luxurious window treatments, using an iconic blue and white chintz.
The exotic Moroccan mother-of-pearl mirror on the one windowless wall created symmetry and a dramatic statement. Carved armchairs in a robin’s egg blue fabric were placed across from an eglomise writing desk for the imagined lady of the house. The white peacock was the unexpected touch that gave the room its glamorous finish.
